For a community I hope to observe any sports community, because its something im comfortable and always interested in. While im also open to anything else to observe as long as im with a group who's interested in whatever community we end up chosing. I'd like to observe intramural sports because it's all kids just looking to have fun, maybe the community of students who go shoot hoops after classes everyother day, or any other community where it's people having fun or competeing.

So your final site you chose doesnt really have anything to do with sports. However, the people that inhabit the lounge area you study really seem to be a team of indivuals that work together in a way. As you observe them think about whether they have any specific goal though in the way a team would.
ReplyDeleteI think it would be interesting to actually get to talk to some of the players from sports teams and see how affective their teamates are and how different players create different bonds with a variety of indiviuals in their community. When I use to dance I've notice that within a community their are people that hold smaller groups of what others may call a community inside the bigger community, and I happened to be one of those people who did that.
